1980 Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Solid car. Looks all original underneath. Will need a good checkover and gebneral tidy up.

 

Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell with extra strengthening similar to our RS models. Good original inner wings, strut tops, Underbonnet area is very good. Strut tops have been sanded back to check numbers prior to export to check the numbers. Original wings, arches, sills, bootwells , floors, pillars. Paintwork is ok in the main and perfectly useable. If you want a useable one then fine but if you want show car you would need to paint it again. This is a fairly decent shell. Underbonnet has been coated with some sort of light stonechip before being painted. Its not really heavy or thick but just wanted to point it out. 

 

Mechanics - Good original 1600 crossflow with original 4 speed box.  All standard running gear. Car starts runs and drives but will need a good check over before using. Carb may need adjusted due to the different climate. 

 

Interior - Original sport seats which are not mint but perfectly useable. Driver seat looks like it will need a repair. Door cards are good with no speaker holes. Dash top has been recovered, headlining is good and carpet is ok. Sport steering wheel. 

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish wheels which could do with a refurb.

 

Decent shell with room for improvement.
