Ford Escort Mk1 1600GT. RHD Import from South Africa, All tax and duty paid and NOVA applied for. Heavy duty early shell withe the locks in the door handles so ideal for twin cam / project / reshell. Car starts runs and drives and is a good solid shell but really needs stripped and done to a better standard.



Body - Early Type Mk1 shell with the door locks in the handles, external bonnet release, shocks bolted on underneath. Has all the same strengthening plates as a type 49 shell except for the tramp bar brackets and studs through the boot floor. Good solid inner wings, strut tops, chassis rails, floor pans which are all original. Has had a previous poor repair on the boot floor and rear wheel tubs which will need redone. Good doors boot and bonnet. Bonnet has the hole for the washer jet similar to twin cam as well. Evidence of a little filler in lower quaerters but generally a good solid early type shell. Paintwork is ok but really wants done to a better standard



Mechanics - 1600 Crossflow. 4 speed box . Car starts runs and drives . Engine sounds ok but obviously the car will need a good mechanical check over . Carburettor will need adjusted due to the different climate.



Interior - 6 dial dash, black headlining, seats have been retrimmed at some stage. Original door cards but have a few speaker holes in them 



Wheels - Standard deep dish steels.



Goos solid shell need ing a few repairs but will make a good one. As its an early shell will be ideal for a twincam project. Please feel free to come and see the car. we can put it up on a ramp if required. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
